chairs that need some love

I've found a pair of these neglected chairs which I think just need a bit of love

I've started working on one of them today even thought it's freezing today! I've nearly finished sanding so there will be some pictures of a finished chair soon.....

Patchwork

I've been working on my chair, one more coat of varnish and I can start the exciting part which is ofcourse the fabrics :) I've been trying to decide on what patchwork I'm going to use for this chair and it's not easy. A little change and the whole patchwork changes massively.

Have a look yourself and tell me what you think:

my boring sofa

Ive moved into my flat nearly a year ago and one of the first things i bought was a sofa, it is a simple grey sofa with metal legs. I like simplicity but i like quirkiness too, over all of the months of having it I got bored of my sofa. I made a few cushions to try and add some character into it but it's not enough.

Before:

This morning I woke up with an idea of how to change it, change its style completely through just upcycling the back cushions. A bit of sewing and  I've added extra texture to the cushions, What do you think?

an old unloved chair

I've always liked vintage and unique furniture, this week I've found these two great pieces of old furniture and just love them.

What is it about old furniture? Why do we love it so much? Is it the quality, shape or the fact that it's got its own little story? Theses chairs deserve to become statement pieces, I've been thinking about different ways of renovating them and  have been most inspired by patchwork. I love fabrics and I couldn't possibly decide on just one fabric to use on these chairs, Patchwork lets me do it the way I want to and choose my favorite fabrics. I can play with fabrics, mix different styles, textures and colors. You can use the same fabrics and you get a totally different design depending on what you use.



I've found this amazing fabric, It's just great! I think I'm going to have to use it as the center piece of my patchwork.
